Pray for your children. It’s one of the most positive and powerful things you can do. Use this prayer for children to commit and commend them to the Living God:
O Living God, give fullness of life to my children.
Give them understanding, knowledge and wisdom; discerning hearts to distinguish right from wrong.
Give them the certainty of biblical truth to guard against Satan’s temptations and trickery.
Hold nothing good from them, keep them from evil, fix them firmly in your ways.
You alone are sufficient, the source of all good, the saviour of sinners and sufferers.
Reveal yourself to my children so they may see their sin, seek forgiveness, and follow you.
Produce in them the faith to press into you, to desire, conform, obey, and place their hope in you.
Please give them tender, active consciences that will pester them when they stray from your path.
Convince them that life has no greater purpose or fulfillment than to love and live for you.
Watch over my children’s relationships; may they not be influenced or ensnared by bad company.
Incline them to kind-heartedness, humility, hopefulness and helpfulness.
You alone are the way, truth and life; the cornerstone, the sure foundation.
May my children be firmly rooted in your Word, divinely informed, obedient, and God honouring.
Fill them with the force, energy and desires of your Spirit.
Make their lips and lives fountains of sweet water.
Help them to always live near the cross, never in their self-sufficiency.
Thank you for your daily mercy and grace; encourage my children to be fruitful and faithful.
Thank you for preserving their health – providing sufficient emotional, intellectual, and spiritual support.
Maintain their strength and vigour, deepen their love for you, invigorate and sustain their walk with you.
May they never flirt with the world and its allurements, never succumb to its entrapments or snares.
Until you come again or until eternity dawns, incline their thoughts and wills to you.
May my children be your children, embraced and employed as instruments of your grace and glory.
As they journey on, may their attitude and aptitude be one of endless praise and adoration.
