Scriptures to encourage your children …

While there are many quotes and good things we can say to inspire and reassure children, there’s nothing better than sharing God’s Word with them.

So, here are twenty Scriptures to encourage your children (below). Use them to point your children to Jesus throughout the day. And think of creative ways to share them. Write one on a Post-it note and stick it on the bathroom mirror. Include one in a lunch box, make a card, or send one as a text if you have older children.

You are the pride of your parents (Proverbs 17:6).

You’re the crown of your grandparents (Proverbs 17:6).

You are a gift from the Lord (Psalm 127:3).

Nothing makes me happier than hearing that you’re walking in the truth! (3 John 3:4).

You are a real blessing! (Psalm 127:3).

You’re wonderfully complex and marvellously made (Psalm 139:14).

You are the pride and joy of the kingdom of God (Luke 18:16).

Jesus said that the kingdom of heaven belongs to little children (Mark 10:14).

You are the apple of His eye (Psalm 17:8).

Jesus is with you always (Matthew 28:20).

You are God’s masterpiece (Ephesians 2:10).

God will reveal His ways to you (Luke 10:21, Matthew 11:25).

You are more valuable than a whole flock of sparrows (Matthew 10:29).

All the hairs on your head are numbered (Luke 12:7).

You are God’s special possession (1 Peter 2:9).

I am like a joyful warrior because you are my arrow (Psalm 127:4-5).

You are a delight to God (Psalm 149:4).

You’re a treasure (Deuteronomy 7:6).

You make God sing! (Zephaniah 3:17).

Things will go well with you when you obey your parents (Ephesians 6:1-3).

Speaking the Scriptures into the lives of our children is transformative. “God means what he says. What he says goes. His powerful Word is sharp as a surgeon’s scalpel, cutting through everything, whether doubt or defence, laying us open to listen and obey. Nothing and no one can resist God’s Word. We can’t get away from it—no matter what” Hebrews 4:12 (MSG).
